Superblue Hinged Crampon ~ X-Small

Manufactured from the finest quality chrome-moly steel, SMC Crampons are made to take the abuse that all crampons must endure. Using a simple, efficient design, our crampons will reliably fit any boot - from stiff-soled leather to rigid plastics, with or without over boots. They have been designed with a horizontal frame to resist snow balling up underneath your foot. The hinge has been carefully located to add extra stiffness at the instep, keeping more points in contact with the climbing surface. Traverse points at the instep and rear of the crampon give added security on downhill travel.

Climbers regularly contact us to tell us that they love their "SMC Crampons!" Maybe we built them too well because it seems we sell more replacement straps and other misc. parts than full sets of new crampons. We would not think of making them any other way because we believe that a crampons should be built to last!

SMC Crampons are finished with a gunmetal "superblue" paint and each pair comes with stainless steel heel wires attached to the rear section to keep narrow heeled boots in place. Five screws and a hex key wrench are included for assembly. Five sizes cover the range from X-Small thru X-Large.
